Passwort reset not working. Mail simply won't reach my Gmail Account.

    Hi,

    I created this new user account simply because there was no other way for me to ask the question here and the recovery link/form was not helpful at all.

    Basically, I just want to recover access to my darn Gravatar account. When I try to log in, it tells me that an account with that email already exists. So I try the password reset as well as the magic login link. Both times I am told that I’ll be sent an email. I don’t know how many times I’ve attempted this now, but that email simply never reaches my inbox. Not my spam folder, not my promotions folder, nowhere to be found. And we’re talking about a Gmail account. Not some random mail server that’s blocking all sorts of emails.

    So…what do I do now? The recovery form, as I stated, is not helpful because it asks me to fill in all sorts of information I don’t have. If I put in placeholders, it tells me the info isn’t valid or asks me to use the password reset form.

    I’m turning in circles here. And all just because I want to change my profil pic on a WordPress blog user account (hosted on my own server, not on WordPress.com).

    Please. Any help is appreciated. I’m at a loss.

    Hey Chris, we can likely help you get this sorted, or at least get you pointed in the right direction.

    What’s the gmail account? If you’ll type it here it will be hidden from public view so only staff can see it.

    And if you’re willing, what’s the username associated with the gravatar?

    Hey, thanks for helping out.

    The email is (email visible only to moderators and staff).

    The username (I can’t really remember what I set) should be either christianheidorn or chrisheidorn.

    Hmmm, we’re seeing those emails as being successfully delivered. Very odd.

    Just to cover all options, do you have a “social” folder and have you checked there?

    Ok, so this is really embarrassing. It wasn’t the “Social” folder. But since I run Wordfence on all my blogs, I get bombarded with all sorts of “Activity” emails. So I must have set up a Gmail filter at some point and completely forgot about this.

    Funny thing is, that the filter didn’t work correctly in this case and filtered out more than it should have.

    Anyhow…my problem is solved now. Thanks for the help and I apologise for wasting everyone’s time ;-)
