"Paste from Word Document" missing from toolbar
-
Can you tell me why this feature is now missing as I use it extensively to post from Microsoft Word? Since I use it to import notes it is quite essential.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Staff are making changes to the editor. I am sorry but I don’t have a clue how long it will take. I don’t know if they will reinstall the icon for WORD again or not because the other icon for posting as plain text works the same way and Does. the same thing. So I would not wait. I would Use this icon instead and proceed
Row 2 icon #5

Ok thanks. Although it doesn’t work quite the same way since it doesn’t import the notes….
I really like wordpress, however I have to say, there’s been one technical problem after another in the short time I’ve been here. While the Blogger platform is not nearly as sophisticated I literally had ZERO problems in the TEN years I was there. So, I guess I am spoilt.

I preferred WordPress software way back then and that’s why I moved here but to this:
While the Blogger platform is not nearly as sophisticated I literally had ZERO problems in the TEN years I was there.
I say AMEN.

We have removed the “Paste as Word” button from the toolbar, but this should not affect your ability to paste Word documents into WordPress.com.
-
I have used both – however – Paste from Text removes ALL the formatting – Paste from Word did preserve some of the formatting (unordered lists and some other functions) – however after a full year of working to get a project moved online you have now TRIPLED my work, since the others on the project are, how should we say, web challenged to be polite, which means I will be on the receiving end of quite a few Word documents that will need to be transferred into a WordPress.COM blog for ease of access by many on the project.
Thanks for the great leap back and for increasing my workload

Just noticed Text Color function reduced to palette. What’s happened to ability to select custom colors? I use this custom colors a good deal, and don’t want to have to code for them each time.

@auxclass
Yes you right. Not everything was stripped previously when using the icon for WORD but now it is groan. I am stopping at communication on such issues any more. At this point I’m looking a pages of unanswered threads that were tagged for Support Staff before they started up with latest new endeavor. -

Unless of course you are pasting footnotes with that document….

@rasrock
You could try using windows live writer instead http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/windows-live-writer/ -
Please note that these changes in the editor come with the new version of TinyMCE, and will be implemented on both WordPress.com and on self-hosted sites. I’ve updated the sticky note with additional information about that.

@jackiedana
Thanks for the update. Last week was hell week here on the support forums and it appears this one may be a rerun. :( I sure hope not but it is not shaping up well thus far. -
Thanks @timethief. Let’s cross our fingers together that this week goes more smoothly. :)
