Paste Function

  I wonder if there is a problem with the paste function – it appears to be rather erratic.
  I understand that paste from word has been removed – I never used that anyway. I always paste direct from a word document. I have noticed this morning that there is some difficulty with this in the visual editor. I can paste into the text editor but this results in a loss of formatting. Oddly, once I have pasted in the text editor it then seems that I can paste the same piece of text directly into the visual editor.
  Is there a problem?

  Yes, you will lose formatting. This is by design. If you wish to keep formatting, you will need to use web-compliant programs like Windows Live Writer instead of Word, etc.

  Thanks but not sure that I understand that. As I say it seems to be erratic, working sometimes and not others. Also noticed that it seems to work fine in IE whereas I generally use Google Chrome.

  Thanks again. OK, found the Live Writer. Does this mean WP want to discourage use of Word as a source document for the paste function?
