Pasted text becomes image
-
When I go to paste a chunk of text from a word document into a post it pastes it in as a image instead of text. This is a new problem that just started happening this week and we have not changed anything on our site.

Hi there,
Can you please let me know the title of the post or page that this is happening so I can have a closer look?

Same, I am having the same issue – pated text becomes an image. Is there a bug that wordpress needs to fix?

We’ve seen a few reports of this but could not reproduce this issue. Could y’all let us know how exactly are you copy-pasting the text (keyboard shortcuts, right-clicking), and what operative system are you on?

I’m using a mac, and when I select text using command+c from a word document (with hyperlinks) and paste it to wordpress using command+v, the text pastes as an image. If I paste it using command+shift+v I get the text pasted as text but without any formatting (without hyperlinks which I have a lot of us and it would be a lot of work to manually add the hyperlinks). Also I’ve been pasting text using command+v for a few months now and this is the first time I’ve had issues.

Thank you for the details. We have already reported this issue to our developers. We can update here once we know more.

Glad I’m not the only one! (Sad it is still happening though) This is happening for every blog post I try to write now

For anyone experiencing this issue, you can keep an eye on its progress here: https://github.com/Automattic/wp-calypso/issues/61295
As a workaround, try pasting content into a classic block in the meantime.

The issue has been fixed. If you’re still experiencing it, though, please let us know.
