pasting from pdf text

Since the recent changes to the text editor, there seems to be no option for removing line breaks. This was really useful when pasting text from a pdf document arranged in columns. Now I have to manually remove every line break. A case of one step forward two steps back?

At last – someone else recognises the same problem as me. This doesn’t seem to be attracting the attention of the developers. It is now taking me 4 times as long to create a posting from a pdf document.

If you are seeing extra line breaks in text posted from another source, please go into your Text editor and search for the following:
& nbsp;
(remove the space between the & and the n).
Sometimes pasting in text will add extra “non-breaking spaces” into your posts.
You can also check for < span> tags that add extra line height and remove those as well.
Because you’re pasting from a PDF, you might also be able to use the Paste as Plain Text button (the T) which should not carry over any extra formatting.

@jackie dana: You have missed my point. The new text editor pastes text straight into the post, not into a text editor box which had a tick box where you could select to remove line breaks. This option has now been removed, meaning each line break has to be removed manually. Surely a backward step?

Agree. It is the tick box that is missing. It allowed wrap around to the width of the WordPress article.
