pasting instamapper HTML into my blog
-
I’d like to embed an instamapper map onto my wordpress.com blog, but it doesn’t seem to let me paste the HTML into the page.
It ends up looking like this:
Thanks for any help.
James
PS. This is the code I have pasted:
<!– BEGIN INSTAMAPPER CODE –>
GPS tracking powered by InstaMapper.com<iframe style=”border:1px solid;” width=”600″ height=”335″ frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no” src=”http://www.instamapper.com/ext?key=28019055209051442&width=400&height=300&zoom=13&type=roadmap&units=imperial&coords=d”>
</iframe>

iframes are stripped out here for security reasons. You can embed a Google map, but not a dynamic one.

Thanks Raincoaster. I’ve got round it by just adding a link to the map. Shame, but it’ll be fine for our purposes.

is it possible to put an iframe in a text widget? Or would they strip that out, too?
Stripped out also – with some applications like Google Maps you paste in the iframe code then that is converted by WordPress.COM to a short code that makes the map work –
iframes are a security risk and a bad iframe can crash a lot of blogs

Thanks, auxclass. My sister has a little pet rescue site that links to petfinder. They have no $$ to support a paid site, so we will have to just put in a link. I understand the security issues…I was hoping there was a work around but too bad, so sad. Grateful for your knowledge and swift response.
