Pasting text from Microsoft Word

Hi! When I’ve pasted text from Word into a blog post before, everything transferred correctly, with the text formatting carrying over nicely. However, when I try to paste from Word now, the text pastes as an image. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue/how this can be solved? Thanks!

Hi @sparrowtacossun93790, it may depend on the kinds of formatting you’ve already applied in Word. If you copy just a few words from the post, then paste those, do they paste as an image?
For what it’s worth, we typically recommend pasting as plain text, then formatting the text with our tools: https://wordpress.com/support/microsoft-word/

Thanks for your response. Yes, even when copying a few words, they also paste as an image. This issue has only begun to crop up recently; before, everything posted perfectly fine. I’m wondering if there might be some updates to the WordPress backend that’s causing this?

Thanks for the link and the file. When I copy-pasted the text using the keyboard shortcuts CRTL+C and CTRL+V, the text was pasted as text, as expected. The same thing happened when I right-clicked on the text and selected Copy and then Paste from the list. I can only test this on a MacBook, though.
Could you walk us through the steps you take to copy-paste the text from Word to your WordPress.com site?

I am also on a Macbook– what browser are you using? I only had this issue with Chrome, and the text pasted fine with Safari. I think this is likely just some issue with my browser, thanks for your help!
