Pasting twitter widgit code to site

  Can someone help me please, I’ve created the twitter widget and pasted the code (the long number) into the box but the widgit is not following me on the site. On Twitter it says “Simply select your timeline source, options, and copy and paste the code in the HTML of your page.” This is the bit I have not done and I don’t know where in the HTML or site I am supposed to past the code from Twitter. Can anyone help with this please?
