PASTING/UPLOADING CODES TO WP

  Hi All, sorry i’am very new to this, so bear with me, please can someone explain if i get a code for say a new widget, exactly were/how do i upload/paste/add it to my wp site so it will show, so then I can drag it into my sidebar to use? Thanks alot, this is what i’ve done so far for my sons site :-) http://scottrosewell.wordpress.com/

  Generally it would go into a text widget, but the bulk of the “code” that you will find out there is either flash, javascript or PHP none of which is allowed here as direct embeds for security reasons. In some cases the gigya shortcode can be used to embed flash, but that depends on the code. See the following:
