Patch to mitigate against cross-site scripting

  How do I patch my site to avoid the cross-site scripting vulnerability. Some knowledge articles say to go to Dashboard and then upgrade…there is no upgrade button other than to purchase. Please advise.

  For sites hosted on WordPress.com such as aristocracyofpull.wordpress.com, you don’t need to worry about upgrading or patching because the WordPress.com team takes care of that for you automatically.
