Please either link your wordpress.com username to your blog or post the URL for the blog in question every time you post to this forum.
How to link your blog to your username
Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to ‘Account Details’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the complete URL for your blog starting with http:// and save the changes.Red, white and blue as in star and stripes? Surely you must be aware that Americans are not the majority here. There are muti-millions of wordpress.com bloggers. There are multiple support forums in many languages and IMO the priority for creating an American patriotic theme won’t be a priority for Staff. If they decide that it is then the vast majority of members who are from Asia and not from North America would surely top the priority list.
Setting that aside there are many themes that provide for custom images headers. There are some new themes that allow for custom backgrounds and free American flag waving type backgrounds are not hard to find on the internet. There are also many free American flag waving images available on the internet that you can use to decorate your sidebar and posts as well.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-header-image/For example if you use the Andrea theme you will have a deep blue background and you can easily create an American flag header from free images off the internet.
You can use the search utility and Feature Filters in your Dashboard > Appearance > Browse Themes > Feature Filters to locate themes of interest to you. (A-Z, Popular, Features)
Each theme has a thumbshot and a features summary description. You can browse and when you find one of interest you can click “Preview”. When you are ready to make your selection you can click “Activate”.

You can use the “Vigilance” theme and adjust your colors. I use the colorcombos dot com website to see the colors together. I did this with my site. I also created my own header. [EDIT: link removed]

@froglilypad
Yes, the Vigilance theme is one of the 39 themes listed at the link I posted above that have customizable image headers.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-header-image/However, note that we are not allowed to post signature links to our blogs at the bottom of each post we make to this forum. We are only allowed to post links that are directly relates for pruposes of providing information or an example.
Your signature links to your blog are redundant as it’s the same blog linked to your username, and a link to your blog was not required at all, as your blog isn’t an example of a blog with an American patriotic theme.
Please refrain from employing this practice in the future so our Moderators do not have to trail behind you deleting said links. And, thanks, in advance, for your cooperation. :)

Kinda sad, isn’t it?

Since grandmomof7 hasn’t given us a URL for her blog, we don’t know whether this is a hypothetical question or one applying to a real WP.com blog. Once I know that, I’m prepared to show her how to do the reddest, whitest, and bluest thing the net has ever seen, but not before then.

There are 15 themes here with custom color options. You can look those over and then choose which one is best for you and allows you to get our your box of 3 crayons – which are likely made in China – and have at it.

With another couple minutes and the CSS upgrade, I could have made it so RWB it would exploded.
