Patriotic Theme

  Can someone please help? I want a patriotic theme but there isn’t anything out there. I don’t want to upgrade to the CSS whatever. I am looking for something that is modern but adheres to our colors and symbols. Any suggestions?

  Find a theme with a custom background and/or background color, and a custom header and turn it as patriotic as you wish. Add patriotic stuff to the sidebar.

  You can sort the themes at http://theme.wordpress.com/ in a myriad of ways.

  I’m assuming your are an American, right? Red, white and blue as in star and stripes? Americans are not the majority of blogger here at wordpress.com. There are muti-millions of wordpress.com bloggers. There are multiple support forums in many languages and IMO the priority for creating an American patriotic theme probably won’t be a priority for Staff. If they decide that a “patrotic theme” it is then the vast majority of members who are from Asia and not from North America would surely top the priority list.

  Setting that aside there are many themes that provide for custom images headers. There are some new themes that allow for custom backgrounds and free American flag waving type backgrounds are not hard to find on the internet. There are also many free American flag waving images available on the internet that you can use to decorate your sidebar and posts as well.

  For example if you use the Andrea theme you will have a deep blue background and you can easily create an American flag header from free images off the internet, size one to use as a header image and then upload it.

  If you are into loking at other themes you can use the search utility and Feature Filters in your Dashboard > Appearance > Browse Themes > Feature Filters to locate themes of interest to you. (A-Z, Popular, Features)

  Or you can use the Themes Showcase > http://theme.wordpress.com/

  Each theme has a thumbshot and a features summary description. You can browse and when you find one of interest you can click “Preview”. When you are ready to make your selection you can click “Activate”.
