Hello! We are a school, therefore we do not have access to a credit card to upgrade. I would like to simply pay by check in advance, then once you receive the check, upgrade our account. I need a fax # or mailing address to send payment.

All upgrades must be paid for at the time of purchase. No purchase orders can be used. After you make your purchase her > Dashboard > Store > Billing History is where you can print out your own receipt.
You must be logged in under the exact same username account that registered the blog who is Admin of the blog to purchase upgrades for the blog.

Below are the only means of payment available.
WordPress.com uses PayPal as the payment processor, and as such, can only accept payment from countries they support: https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/
In addition to major credit cards Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and PayPal https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/ WordPress.com can accept echecks and some debit cards.
The debit card must have a VISA or Mastercard symbol on it, and should work just like a credit card when selecting the VISA or Mastercard option on the payment form, even though it’s a debit card.

Can I prepay is what I am asking? I’ll send the check payment first, then once you apply it to the account, I’ll upgrade?

I would hate to lose our business, simply because we don’t have a credit card to make payment!

Lose what “business”? WordPress.com blogs cannot be equipped for eCommerce transactions. This is an empty blog http://cadetnewschs.wordpress.com/ Are you referring to another one? If so what is the URL?

Our $99 upgrade is the business I am referring to. I can make payment on Paypal possibly, however, it asks for the email address of the company I am making payment to. What email address would I use?

You might check to see if your school has a PayPal account or official credit card for purchases like this, both of which are increasingly common with so many purchases made online nowadays. Otherwise, you may wish to purchase the upgrade on your own account and request reimbursement from your school.

The site runs on the same WordPress software we do here ie. wpMU (wordpress multiuser). However, the site is specifically set up for teachers and students. All edublogs are are advertising free, whereas our blogs here at WordPress.com are not ad-free, unless we buy an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.

I have already checked with our corporation office. We do not make online purchases normally, and if we do, we use a purchase order, which allows the shipments to take place and we are billed later. Also, the state does not allow reimbursements as all payment need to go directly to the place of business. Is there any way I can mail you payment. Time isn’t an issue. i don’t mind waiting for the check payment to clear before you activate the upgraded account. I’m not finding any other way to do this. i would be more than happy to send the check from our school in the mail today, and wait for your response to allow us the upgraded status.

No purchase orders can be used. No means of payment other than what I posted above is available. Please read what I posted just before you did.
