Pay for domain name with VISA credit card

No Renew button in Store on October 15, 2012 to pay for expired domain name on October 11, 2012.

That’s odd you ought to be able to renew it manually via Store -> Domains in your blog’s Dashboard.

Went to Store but no Renew button available since the domain expired on October 10 and today is October 15. I tried on Ocotber 11 to renew and was unsuccessful too. We definitely do no want our library patrons blocked from using the site, but WordPress does not provide a means to pay when the domain has expired it appears. Why?

There are no domains registered under your account.
You’ll need to be logged in as the owner of the domain to renew it.

@TT has flagged this for the staff to help you – there used to be several days of grace period that you could renew without staff help –

The grace period still exists, and this domain is still within that, but you have to be logged in as the user who purchased it.

I thought there was a grace period too, but no one from the WordPress Support Staff has given me information I can use to expedite the renewal process with my VISA card.

You need to take staff-blorbo’s advice and log in as the user that bought the original domain name

There were two collaborators on the site, but the other librarian is no longer employed as of July 2012. I was the original creator of the site in September 2009 and we changed the domain name in 2010 when the other librarian who is no longer employed was hired. I still maintain the site and am the primary and only administrator of the site. You mean I am blocked out for paying for the domain name renewal?

The upgrades belong to the original account – as does the blog itself – are you on good terms with the ex-employee? They can log in here and request the upgrade be transferred to your account (or an account set up just for your group) – the blog can be transferred by the original blog owner – takes about a minute –

I have contacted my collaborator by email and hopefully she can transfer ownership to me ASAP.
