Pay Pal Button in Sidebar (widget area)

Still attempting the PayPal button thing.

So, I am intending to add a button in my sidebar with the label “Pay Now”.

I have followed the directions, copied the code under email (not website) and open a New Post and paste the email code to the window, in Text. When I then switch to “visual” it only shows the code…no image.

I thought maybe that was still okay, so I copied that code and went to Widget screen, scrolled down to Text, pasted this email code (creating my own custom widget) and posted.

My web page shows the code only, no button. Hmmm. whatsagirltodo?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I have followed the directions…

being these directions http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/ especially under Point 11?

Create the button image first (see the available buttons at the bottom of the Support doc), then add the link you received from PayPal in the Visual Editor using the Link button. When done, switch back to the Text Editor and copy/paste the whole thing into a text widget.

Hi Jennifer…so, the verbage “Pay Now” was not available in that list of possible options, and I want that verbage, as my customers are paying their invoices on my site, and I have a service-based business.

I selected the option for creating my own button verbage and selected “Pay Now” as it was (lo and behold) an available choice under the Custom Button section.

I then selected the email version of the code needed to transfer it to WP.

Should I maybe just try NO CUSTOM changes and instead be tolerant of the other pre selected options?

    Thanks in advance

    K

I did just try to use the predetermined button verbages (like, Buy Now) and it is still not coming up with the button image. Hmmmmm.

Still no luck. Anyone have some suggestions?
