The HTML code for Paypal does not work. I copy and paste the code into one of my pages and I do not see the button appear. I do not see anything appear actually. Could someone please help with some suggestions? Perhaps one of you have had the same problem? Thanks.

Do be aware that no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.COM blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM . The advertising exceptions noted in support documentation are for high traffic blogs that qualify for and are accepted into the Ad Control program, soon to be replaced with the WordAds program, and for extremely high traffic blogs that qualify and are accepted into the paid VIP hosting program.

That’s because the software is stripping the code out and it will continue to do so. I visited your blog and my advice is to hire a web host now and move that content into a self-hosted WordPress.org install ASAP.

Otherwise, you’ll need to install WordPress from http://wordpress.org/ on a hosting provider. We have some recommendations at http://get.wp.com/hosting/
Then, you can direct your domain name to your hosting provider by changing your nameservers: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers

If you read timethief’s link above, then you will begin to know that wp.com and wp.org are two separate and distinct entities. That means you cannot upgrade from one to the other. They are different! They may be related, in that you can export and import from one to the other (with modifications needed when you do so), but they are completely distinct from each other.

What exactly does it take to become part of the word press VIP program?
Minimum $ 20,000 or so per year – one of your staff will need to be a WordPress genius, high end super Admin – that is the bargain basement program. You also need to be ultra high traffic and audition for the right to have VIP hosting. CNN is a VIP user for instance.

Because the nature of your blog is not compatible with WP.com. For one thing, staff have deleted or suspended many, many blogs who participate in “get more followers” kinds of activities. They continue to do so as far as I know.
Additionally, WP.com is not set up for ecommerce. If you want the plugins etc that will enable you to fully monetize a site, you need to be somewhere else.
WordPress.com is designed as a site for personal and/or corporate blogging which is content-based, not commerce-based.

I did not suggest you pay Staff for an Guided transfer upgrade. It’s my opinion that those who lack the skills to hire a web host, set up a WordPress.org install, install a WordPress.org theme and plugins, and move their content via export/import from their WordPress.com blog into their install, ought not to be moving to self hosting until they have those skills. Setting up a self-hosted WordPress.org install
