pay pal widget instructions don’t work. I just need a pay pal button on my wordpress site
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

no matter what I do the pay pal widget doesn’t ever show up on my site. either sidebar or widget. Ugh!!!

The only PayPal instructions that do work on a WordPress.com blog are found in this guide. http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/ Provided you follow them to the letter without trying to add anything or change anything in any way they do work.

Here is where I am not sure what to do. What “page” do I open?

The documentation assumes you are putting the link on a post or page of your website. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/.
You should be able to do basically the same thing in a text widget, but you’ll have to code the HTML by hand.

Okay I have the link on my page now. But it isn’t a widget it’s just at the top of my page right now. I want it to show up always on the top right hand side below the email signup.
I’ve followed widget directions but it never shows up.

The paypal widget instructions won’t work. You should be able to put the link in a WordPress text widget IF you follow the same process as you used to put it on the page. An easy way to move it would be to copy the work you did to put the link on the page and copy it into a text widget. Just be sure to copy from the text tab not the visual tab.

Okay what I can’t seem to either understand or find is the widget part. I have created a post with the paypal info in it, but everytime I go to add a widget there is no widget to add. So do I create a new text widget?

Yes. Switch the post editor to the text view so you can see the html code. Copy that. Then you head to Appearance ->Widgets. Add a new text widget, and past the html code into that widget. Save, and it should work.
