  Some companies are advertising on my site. How is this possible and how can pay per click work in this instance?

  Hello!

  The WordPress free plan features advertising on your blog.

  Unless you purchase a Personal plan or a higher level Premium or Business Plan there will be ads placed by WordPress on your site.

  I actually don’t see the ads on your site, but if the ads you see are found at the end of blog posts, what you are seeing is WordPress.com generated advertising.

  If ads are appearing elsewhere on your site, then they are not placed by WordPress.com and are being placed there by software on your own computer, which may indicate malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser.

  I don’t quite understand the other part of your question, what do you mean by “pay per click”?

  Thanks for your reply. I have just checked, and seen the word press ad and another ad rot do with Christmas Savings at the Olympia, get 25% off
