  When I was going to launch my website I was so excited until it said that I had to pay for a link. Is there a way to get a free link when launching my website?

  While launching your WordPress.com site, you will get several suggestions for selecting a custom domain. However, you can scroll down to the last and select the option which says “skip and continue with your free domain” to launch your site for free.
