  Hello, I am trying to build a website with the $8 per month plan. I do not have the $96 to pay upfront at the moment. I have no job right now due to the coronavirus and am trying to build a site to help generate a new source of income. Is there any way to pay the $8 each month for the year?

  I understand your condition in this period of crisis, however, as per the policy, all the payments at WordPress.com are charged annually or for 2 years(with a discount) in advance.

  I suggest building a free site and saving your money for the time being. It still includes your hosting and access to our support team here. Then, once you are sure that you love what you’re doing with us you can upgrade. The personal plan is the first tier option, so I’d suggest that one as it’s cheaper.
