paying for wordpress.org domains

    Why am I paying for xxx.wordpress.com domains? I thought only the independent xxx.com – no wordpress subdomain included in blog title- blogs were billed by wordpress and the others were free.

    Hi there – You have three domains registered with us. Two of those domains are pointed to hosting elsewhere, but the domains themselves are still registered here at WordPress.com and must be renewed yearly.

    You can transfer them out to another registrar altogether by following these instructions:
