Paying without adding credit card

  I want to purchase a domain. I have the cash in paypal but WordPress wants me to add a credit card to complete the purchase. How can I use my money in paypal to pay WordPress without adding a credit card?

  Hello!
  Couple questions
  1. In your paypal account is the account connected to any debit or bank account?
  2. Is everything in your paypal account (including any connections to any other kinds of cards and accounts) up-to-date and current?
  3. Does your transaction require any kind of currency transaction?
  For example, your paypal account is in England and you want to do the transaction in the US?
  4. There are no fraud alerts paypal activate that would trigger such a response?

  Follow-up questions while we wait for staff:
  1. Is this a recent occurrence?
  2. Has this ever happened to you before when using paypal to purchase WordPress products?
  3. Is WordPress asking for a credit card OR is paypal asking for one?

  1. Yes but this is my first time trying to purchase something through wordpress

  3. When I click to pay, it sends me to paypal with the wordpress.com at the top of the page and the following message in a box
  “To complete the payment with WordPress.com, please link a new credit card.”

  Staff as been notified and we must be patient as staff works in the order in which requests have been added.
  It appears this is a common occurrence between Paypal and WordPress. This problem is not isolated.

  Hi there,

  That requirement to add a credit card is actually coming from Paypal, not WordPress.com. Paypal sometimes requires a credit card to be added to your Paypal account, even if you are paying with your Paypal balance. Unfortunately, there’s nothing WordPress.com can do to remove that requirement.
