  Hello there,

  The free part is for the domain, but only if you choose a WordPress.com plan.

  
  Basically, when you purchase any of the WordPress.com plans, it comes with a free domain for one year from the date of purchase, and then you’ll be charged based on the TLD price and hosting renewal.
