  Hello, is it required for me to select a plan, prior to building my site? I am trying to see what site options you have prior to making a payment.

  You certainly can get your site set up here before switching your domain over!

  When you sign up for a new site, we give you a free subdomain (*.wordpress.com) that you can use to start building your new site. You will need a paid plan at the time you want to connect your domain to the site. You can compare the different plan levels here:

  If you need to use features that are only included in a paid plan, there is no “free trial” or “try before you buy” – you would need to purchase a plan at that time. Most subscriptions can be canceled for a refund within 14 days of purchase or renewal, or 7 days for subscriptions that are billed monthly.
