  I have a few questions. Am I able to pay monthly, and if I choose the free plan. Am I able to upgrade with the same domain name?

  Payment needs to be made annually. With a free plan you’ll get an address ending in .wordpress.com or .home.blog or similar. If you wanted to upgrade you could keep that subdomain address if you wished.
