Can you be billed for an upgrade or establish payment arrangements?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

You can purchase any upgrade form Store in your Dashboard! If you have any questions about certain upgrades, please feel free to reach out!

As for payment arrangements, you can set up automatic renewal for your yearly upgrades. This can be enabled and disabled at any time. Just a heads up, we will charge your card 30 days before expiration just to make sure there won’t be any hiccups in case there are issues with the card. Please note the expiration date will not end 30 days earlier because of this.

Let me know if you have any questions with this!

My question is really about upgrading to a business account. Would the 299.00 have to be paid up front?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there,

Yes, it would have to be paid, but we do have a 30 day refund period. If you are unhappy with it, you can always refund/cancel it in the first 30 days.

Do you have specific questions about Business? I’d be more than happy to help you with it. What’s really great about Business, in addition to Premium themes, is that you can receive Live Chat support, which I highly recommend. :)

I do have a specific question…. I plan to have a shopping cart feature and/or the ability for users to post their wares on the site. Can premium’s capacity fulfill that?

  • Unknown's avatar

one more thing…. their is a thumbnail pic next to my blog in the Manage Blogs section that I want my blog to go back to! Some of the themes that I have been preview have actually changed the background, template etc of my original page. How do I undo?!

    Hi there,

If you would like to sell your own work on your WordPress.com site, this link will give you instructions for setting up a PayPal button:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

However, if you need a comprehensive a shopping cart, it might be best to move to a self-hosted WordPress.org blog. To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.

Check here to learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:

We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested:

As for the thumbnail pic next to your blog. Can you please provide me a screenshot? Is this question linked to your theme question? What would you like to undo? I do not see any background image uploaded. Currently it is empty. Please clarify and I’d be happy to help you!

  • Unknown's avatar

I would like to undo say the last two weeks of changes…. the fact that there is no background on my blog is one of the changes I made by mistake! I know there is no background when you look at the blog or call it up but when I’m in my dashboard or the manage blog page, there is a thumbnail pic for everything in my account. The very first entry is the way it looked at first, before I started looking at other templates etc.

    Please help with that.
I’ll write back about the upgrade etc. after I read the links you sent. It would be a “comprehensive” shopping cart as you call it, but I would still like to have technical assistance.

    Hi there,

Unfortunately, there wouldn’t be a way to just undo the last two weeks of changes with the click of a button. You can change the background image and upload any image you want by going to Appearance > Header in your Dashboard.

As for the thumbnail pic, exactly what do you want to do? I’m not quite sure what you are asking. Please clarify and provide screenshots if possible. You can upload any screenshot to your Media Library.

If the shopping cart is the most important part of your site, I highly suggest looking into WordPress.org right away. Please note that since your site would be self-hosted with a different provider, support staff at WordPress.com do not have access to your site’s files or the ability to provide support for any issue you may have.

You can find support for your self-hosted WordPress site here:

    http://wordpress.org/support/

    http://codex.wordpress.org/

If you need professional help for your self-hosted WordPress site, you can check out:

You may also contact your host’s support team for more assistance.

Ok. I got some advice from a webinar I attended which suggested that I build my foundation first, then concentrate on my blog. They recommended a “landing page” to capture emails, and then after 1,000 responders, do the blog. I’ve decided to go that route.
Are any of the templates designed to just capture emails? If not, I will stick with another company’s instant page, maybe pull down this blog for now and come back to it in a couple of months.

Any landing or instant pages on wordpress.com?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there,

It wouldn’t be possible to create a landing page to capture emails, but you can definitely set up your blog with us. WordPress.com is a blogging site so it would be best to keep your WordPress.com site for blogging purposes.

    Cheers!

if I switch this domain to a landing page with another company, how can I save my blog here with WordPress? it’s already a blog, but I would switch this domain to the landing page.

  • Unknown's avatar

Your blog will stay exactly as you left it last. WordPress.com blogs do not disappear unless you permanently delete it. As for the domain, you can point the domain you registered at WordPress.com to another server (hosting service), with these steps:

    Change a Domain’s Name Servers

You’ll need to obtain the name server values from your current host. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)

    I hope this helps!
