Payment methods
-
Hello, I am trying to implement a payment method for “Zelle”, “Mobile Pay” payments. The way I have it set up is I found some plugins that allowed me to create custom payment gateways that show our bank info in the description. Now I am trying to find a code snippet or something of the sort to allow for a mandatory field to show up asking the user to submit a screen capture of their payment confirmation. This screen capture would show up in my order page for me to veify the payment. Is this possible?
Something that looks like this is my goal. If there is a way for me to show the bank details more clearly that would also help:

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there,
Thanks for reaching out and providing a detailed explanation of what you need.
Now I am trying to find a code snippet or something of the sort to allow for a mandatory field to show up asking the user to submit a screen capture of their payment confirmation.
This would almost certainly require custom development, and would be outside scope for the support we provide.
Out of curiosity, this is quite a specific requirement – I’m really curious, what problem are you trying to solve here exactly? Perhaps we can work the solution and come up with a way to get everything as you need it to be.
Many thanks.

Sure and thank you so much for the help.
In Venezuela payments done via “Zelle” and “Mobile pay” are quite popular. Mobile pay works just like zelle however, the currency used is bolivars and the transaction is done by the user with their local bank. When going to a physical store you can choose to pay with any option. You are given the details necessary and once you are done you provide the store cashier with the confirmation that the payment was made. They verify it and you are good to go.
All I would need to automate these payments is that once the user selects this payment method. Automatically, they are shown zelle or mobile pay details and have to upload a screen capture of their payment confirmation. Once they upload it they can place their order which will be on hold until I verify this payment. In theory this image uploaded by the customer will show up in a small window of the order page (similar to short description, thumbnails, etc). Many online buisnesses have managed to do this and offer this service for a heavy price they also have their own “wordpress” and charge you for using it. Others have developed plugins that I can download and upload but charge for it.
My issue is that this seems very easy to code and I should not have to pay for it. However, I am a second year CS student and having a very hard time making the plugin for myself. Hopefully you can give me a more useful guide or something of the sort. My payment gateway would work like any other (cash on delivery, bank transfer, electronic check) but I just need an upload image field that is required and that this file shows up in the order page.
Thank you so much again and sorry for the long reply. This is the only thing holding back the launch of my store.
PS: I would also set it up as seperate payment methods (they both work the same) one called “Zelle” and one called “Mobile Pay”. This way when mobile pay is chosen the total is converted to local currency which I can do with existing plugins that are free.

Hi there,
As you’ve rightly mentioned, it is indeed possible to create a custom plugin to allow customers to upload payment confirmation before executing an order. However, custom plugin development involves advanced programming skills and is unfortunately beyond the scope of the support we’re able to provide at WordPress.com. Our team is here to assist with platform-related queries and troubleshooting, but for safety and liability reasons, we are unable to help directly with code creation or editing.
Given your situation, I would strongly advise considering the paid plugins that you’ve discovered. While there is an upfront cost associated with these plugins, they come with a number of key benefits. These plugins are developed by experienced programmers who are proficient in WordPress development. This ensures that the plugin is less likely to contain bugs or cause conflicts with your site. Plus, if you run into any issues or need help understanding how to use the plugin, the author will be there to assist.
Developing your own plugin can be a rewarding project, particularly if you’re looking to expand your programming skills. However, it’s important to weigh the time, effort, and potential complications against the cost of a ready-made, supported solution. In this case, the advantages of purchasing a plugin may well outweigh the challenges of creating one from scratch.
If you have any more questions or need further assistance, don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re here to help.
