Payment problem

I want to renew my blog jeanpaton.com but after putting in my new credit card information, I received the following message: ‘Invalid cardholder name.’ Please advise.

Thanks for replying. In response to your question, I don’t know. One has so many accounts with so many different usernames, it is impossible to keep track. But why should that make a difference? If someone else wanted to pay for my domain why shouldn’t WordPress accept the payment as long as the credit card was valid and that person was able to access my account. It looks as if I will have to call WordPress and straighten things out. Again, thanks.

WordPress.com uses PayPal as the payment processor, and as such, can only accept payment from countries they support: https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/
If for whatever reason, they have chosen to block payment from your country, you will not be able to purchase an upgrade here unless you have a source of payment outside of your country. Note: You can buy a prepaid credit card from an approved country.
In addition to major credit cards Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and PayPal https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/ WordPress.com can accept echecks and some debit cards.
The debit card must have a VISA or Mastercard symbol on it, and should work just like a credit card when selecting the VISA or Mastercard option on the payment form, even though it’s a debit card.

Just for the record: I am a US citizen and all my credit cards are valid. I was renewed automatically last year. However, that card’s expiration date expired, so I have to renew manually.

I am seeing a successful transaction. So I’m going to assume that you got this sorted out unless I hear form you otherwise.
If this happens in the future, please contact Paypal, our payment processor, and ask them why they are refusing the payment.
