payment problems

  My payments are not being accepted.

  I get the following message –

  The transaction cannot complete successfully. Please check the billing address and expiration date. Please contact your bank if you have further problems.

  I tried by Visa payment (two different cards both with enough money) and I could not successfully complete the payment.
  it is also worth mentioning that I´ve tried to perform the payments with a spanish card and in the payment page the amount was shown in dollars.

  WordPress.com uses PayPal as the payment processor, and as such, they can only accept payment from countries they support: https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/

  In addition to major credit cards Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and PayPal https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/ WordPress.com can accept echecks and some debit cards.

  The debit card must have a VISA or Mastercard symbol on it, and should work just like a credit card when selecting the VISA or Mastercard option on the payment form, even though it’s a debit card.

  Spain appears in the supported country list of paypal (but i do not have a paypal account, so i have only tried with a Visa card). In Spain they have these “debit” cards that “act ” as credit cards, and both I´ve tried have also the VISA symbol on it. nontheless, the payments still fail… I have been able to pay in any other website without encountering this problem before, and according to what you describe about VISA cards it should work. What should I do next?

  Hi there thetravellette,

  Your country of origin shouldn’t be a problem (Spain isn’t, anyway!)

  The error code I’m getting indicates that you should try another card. Whatever happened with one card is happening with both (I’m getting the same error), so I would recommend trying a fresh card. Or perhaps call your bank and let them know you’re attempting to make this type of payment.
