  My credit card was refused and it is working other places

  There was an issue earlier that I believe was fixed so please try your purchase again.

  Below are the only accepted means of payment.

  WordPress.com uses PayPal as the payment processor, and as such, can only accept payment from countries they support: https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/

  If for whatever reason, they have chosen to block payment from your country, you will not be able to purchase an upgrade here unless you have a source of payment outside of your country. Note: You can buy a prepaid credit card from an approved country.

  In addition to major credit cards Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and PayPal https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/ WordPress.com can accept echecks and some debit cards.

  The debit card must have a VISA or Mastercard symbol on it, and should work just like a credit card when selecting the VISA or Mastercard option on the payment form, even though it’s a debit card.

  Thanks for the information. I attempted to pay with a certified MasterCard with the new chip, issued in the USA with an expiration date several years in the future. Does not make sense as I make an average of 50+ transactions locally and for paying bills with this card each month.

  @supernovia, don’t remember the exact words but something along the lines of “could not process….”. I would try again but after trying this several times I went and paid via PayPal.

  My reason for writing this post was too alert anyone interested in the problem so perhaps it doesn’t happen to others.
