    Hi @spelgams,

Just to clarify: Are you wanting to build an e-commerce store on kickaboutonline.wordpress.com? And you’re asking if it’s possible to build an e-commerce store on your site that can take payments if you’re located in the UK?

  • Hi there,

That depends on what you mean by a payments page, though I don’t know of any option we offer that’s restricted to only the US or Canada.

If you want to accept payments on your site via a PayPal button on a free site, or our Simply Payments options on the Premium Plan, you need to have a valid PayPal account, so you have to live in a country where PayPal is supported.

For an ecommerce site on our Business or eCommerce plans there are different payment gateway options available, some of which are only supported in some countries.

If you can give a bit more detail on exactly what you’re looking to do, I’ll be able to give you a more specific answer.

Probably you have been reading about the WordPress.com “Store” feature which does seem to be limited to the US/Canada.

There are a number of other ways to take payments using WordPress.com in the UK.

  • That’s possible, yes.

The Store feature only applies to the Business and eCommerce plans, though, and it’s only the interface that is limited to the US and Canada at this time, as it includes specific services that we’re only able to offer in those two countries.

But you can still create an online store in those two plans and manage it from the traditional WP-Admin interface.
