Payments Disabled

    I started WordPress a couple days ago and when I tried to upgrade my account to a personal plan, initially I was able to type in my card info, but then it notified something like “There is a issue, please try later”. After a few attempts, it said “Purchases are currently disabled. Please contact us to re-enable purchase.” I have clicked on contact us and reached out to the billing support, but they told me they will not be providing any detail on this incident and my account will remain unable to purchase. I’m very confused now and wish if anyone can help me figure out what have I done wrong and how, if possible, can I restore purchases, thanks! Below is the latest reply from Billing Support.

    Hi @leoo0emn,
    I can see you’ve already contacted billing support and they’ve stated they won’t provide details about why payments are blocked.
    This is a payment restriction issue that only WordPress.com staff can resolve. Since billing support has already responded but didn’t provide a solution, I’m tagging this with modlook so the team can review your case again.


    What you can try:
    Wait 24-48 hours – Sometimes payment blocks are temporary
    Try a different payment method – Different card or PayPal
    Check with your bank – Make sure they’re not blocking the transaction

    As the billing support mentioned, you can use the free version of WordPress.org while this gets resolved: https://wordpress.org/


    For your specific account issue:
    Staff will need to review why your account was flagged. They work through tagged threads daily.
