Add topic to favorites
I want to add a paypal, ‘buy it now’ button to my blog which is hosted here at wordpress. How do I do this? Putting the html into a post doesn’t work

Um, no they don’t want to add that button in as that will quickly get your blog ToS’ed. If you have that on your blog, you should remove it asap.

I personally don’t mind the blog (it’s legit and I have no issue with it) but it has at least one post where they’re selling a print.

You agreed to a legal and binding Terms of Service contract to get a blog here http://wordpress.com/tos/
When blogs are found to be in breach of the ToS they are suspended. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/06/01/my-blog-has-been-suspended/
There is also strict policy prohibiting advertising http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/

You’re not allowed to sell items on the blogs here. (Which is why i removed that bit about the Buy Now button from your post. That would just confuse folks.)

This post needs to be removed along with any others that are selling stuff.

OK, but can I ask for donations then? All I’m trying to do is get donations to continue my art work and offer something in exchange for a donation. Or if not here, can I link to a page on my website?

Ok, I’ve contacted support to see exactly what I’m allowed to do. Sorry for any upsets, I’m not trying to run a business. My blog is about my artwork, and I offered a print at 25 euros to help me continue. When I sell for real, I sell in galleries and the prices and image sizes are much higher

Third reply from me in a row, sorry for this, but I don’t want to get the blog suspended. Support is closed, I’ll contact them in the morning. Until then I’ve modified the one post on the blog out of 89 other posts to make no mention of selling anything, and the paypal button has been modifed to a donation button, as in the original forum post which started this thread. I hope this acceptable until I can contact support

The comment I sent it was that it was the only post that I saw like that and it just needed to be removed. Looks like Lloyd is watching the support queue. He also handles the abuse queue so he may be backed up a bit today.

It’s up to staff really.

The donation link would be fine.
