Paypal Address

I’ve read the answers offered for this, and they are not answers; they only add to the confusion by referencing other posts that don’t actually answer anything. What, specifically, in no uncertain terms, is a “PayPal Address”? Is it your email address as used by paypal? Is it something I have to request from PayPal?
This does not answer the question:
“When you send a payment using PayPal, you receive an email receipt. If you have your email receipt for your purchase, you can easily register for a PayPal account by following the instructions within the email receipt.
If you no longer have the email receipt, go to Help Center, and request that the email receipt be resent.
After you sign up for a PayPal account, you can view all your transactions in your account History Log at anytime.
Note: To view your previous transactions, you must sign up using the same email address and credit card used for those transactions.”
That tells me how to set up a PayPal account.

Paypal identities are email addresses. I’ve understood that it is difficult, if not in violation of their ToS, to use another address or even change your address.
FYI, I don’t use PayPal.

I am trying to figure out if it is possible to have an online shop with wordpress. How does that work? Do I have to use a widget or connect a paypal account? Are there existing templates for that?
