Hello there,
Can you detail where this code is being placed on the website please.
Also, are you able to share the HTML you are using please so that we can take a closer look.
Many thanks.

the paypal button should for today be placed on the home page under the title A triptych of birds and a few loose feathers for the moment at some point i will need to create a new page where the paypal button should be
here is the code<form action=”https://www.paypal.com/donate” method=”post” target=”_top”>
<input type=”hidden” name=”business” value=”DJ6UVLN9PV7UC” />
<input type=”hidden” name=”currency_code” value=”GBP” />
<input type=”image” src=”https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_GB/i/btn/btn_donate_LG.gif” border=”0″ name=”submit” title=”PayPal – The safer, easier way to pay online!” alt=”Donate with PayPal button” />

</form> -

That certainly isn’t the code as described at https://wordpress.com/support/paypal/#summary-adding-a-pay-pal-button. That’s why you are having problems.

Staartmees instead of giving me unhelpful comments please be helpful
u just make statments which are not helpful -
Hi there – Thank you for sharing the HTML you are using.
The HTML you have there is not the same as the format shown in Step 3 of the support guide here: https://wordpress.com/support/paypal/#step-3-putting-it-all-together
I believe the step you may have missed is switching the button creation code from “Website” to “Email” as shown in Step 4 here: https://wordpress.com/support/paypal/#buy-now-add-to-cart-subscribe-automatic-billing
Please try going back through the steps in the guide from the beginning. Follow each step exactly as prescribed. If you get stuck, please let us know which exact step you are stuck on.
Thank you for your patience and persistence. I’m confident you will get this working soon.
