Hi there,
With simple HTML code, you can add the PayPal Buy Now button on your site in order to sell DVDs. It’s limited in its features but can get the job done depending on what you are looking for.
Otherwise, the PaywithPayPal block gives you more flexibility to sell your products on your site, but does require at least the Premium Plan to use the feature:
Of course, if you want unlimited flexibility, the Business Plan is the best bet:
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Hi Mr. Darnell,
Thank you so much for clarifying that for me as building a website on my own is all new to me honestly although I have listed and sold thousands on items on eBay and it’s now just too expensive to sell anymore for small sellers, so I appreciate you taking time to answer my questions, although I do have a few more please if you don’t mind.As of now I have the free WP software installed but trying to decide between the personal and premium plans though.
1. So on a personal site will I be able to have a seperate Paypal button for each dvd so I know which dvd I sold to which customer?
2. Is there also a shopping cart integrated onto the personal site from Word press or is that something I can add on?
3. on a personal site are there limits on how many items I can sell?
4. On a personal site what is the bandwidth data transfer I am allowed per month VS a premium site?
5. As long as building a site is it drag and drop user friendly?
6. As long as the free domain that comes with a WP account, is there a privacy registration option available?7. Finally, my plan is to build a site that I can fully manage myself without hiring a designer with that being said, I am a YouTube content creator, so of course I host my videos on the YouTube platform itself which saves me a decent amount of storage when it comes to sharing those links onto my site, so I plan to showcase those videos on my personal site, and add my adsense account to it and also have some affiliate links inside my website to make a profit. One of the pages on my site would be an app download page, these apps are hosted somewhere else to save me some money every month on hosting of course, so with that being said what do you think is the best thing to do here go with a personal site or choose the premium plan instead?
Please let me know again I appreciate this so much honestly,
Thank you so so much for your time I mean it sir. -
Hi there,

2. Is there also a shopping cart integrated onto the personal site from Word press or is that something I can add on?
You can, yes, but you would need to use the “PayPal embed” method described here. It involves copying and pasting a bit of code from PayPal, so I’m not sure I’d recommend this if you have a lot of products to sell. But for a few products this will work.
If you upgrade to our Premium plan, we do offer a handy PayPal Block you can use to more easily set up product listings (several blocks added on a single page would create more of a “shop” look”) though I should point out that neither of these options have the ability to offer an integrated “cart” so they are what you would call “buy now” listings, to use PayPal’s lingo. So if someone wanted to buy two different products, it would be two different transactions as they are handled separately via PayPal.
If you would like an integrated shopping cart, as well as inventory management, custom shipping and tax calculations, etc. I would instead recommend upgrading to our WordPress.com Business Plan, which would allow you to add the WooCommerce plugin for a fully integrated ecommerce site.

3. on a personal site are there limits on how many items I can sell?
There is not a limit to how many buttons you can embed, but as I mention there is a practical limitation due to the fact that it’s a fairly manual process. This is true of the PayPal Block option we offer on the Premium plan, and the WooCommerce option under our Business plan: no limits on how much you can sell regardless of which option you choose.
4. On a personal site what is the bandwidth data transfer I am allowed per month VS a premium site?
Bandwith is unlimited on all our sites—even free ones—but the amount of media storage (images, audio, video, documents) is limited based on plan level. You can compare pricing and features here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
5. As long as building a site is it drag and drop user friendly?
Yes, our Block Editor uses image and text blocks to create any layout you wish, like Legos, but for website page layout. If you want to get a feel for what this looks like in action, you may want to watch the short demo video on this page: https://wordpress.com/webinars/getting-started-website-building-101/
As well if you wish you can sign up for the webinar offered on that page (it’s free)
6. As long as the free domain that comes with a WP account, is there a privacy registration option available?
All domain registrations are private, so your info is not shared on the public domain info at all. :)
Please let me know again I appreciate this so much honestly,I’ll briefly mention up front that it’s not possible to install AdSense on your WordPress.com site unless you are using our Business Plan, as you need the ability to access your site source code (to install the AdSense tracking) which is not possible under our Personal or Premium plans.
Also you mention wanting to offer digital downloads, is this product you are intending to sell? If so I’d also recommend the Business plan as WooCommerce would allow you to sell digital products while protect the source file (or download link if you plan to host the file elsewhere) so the only way to download it is to first purchase it.
The Business Plan also includes unlimited video hosting as well. You would be welcome to embed YouTube content (which you can do even on free sites) but if you wanted to offer private videos without branding, that would be an option.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Hello, wow this is very impressive I can now see why Word Press is so popular honestly, you guys have answered all of my questions in less than 24 hours, which is awesome, so thank you so much.
Let’s pretend that I don’t want to sell anything on my site because of two reasons.
A. I am a YouTube content creator and most of my videos are in regards to the Amazon Firestick device, so I show my audience how to properly use their Firestick as well as how to improve functionality of the device itself and how to watch content for free.
B. The free digital downloads that I want to showcase on my site are third party Android open source apps that are available to download from many different sources on the internet, but I will have a page sharing these links for my audience to download for free, so file integrity isn’t important for this matter, but I am glad that you brought this up.I have watched the video you shared with me which shows the basics on at least how to get started with WordPress which is great, so thanks again.
The reason why I say that I don’t want to sell any of my dvd’s on this site is so that I don’t confuse my visitors as to whether they are visiting a site that offers free advice and tutorials for Amazon Fire devices or selling dvds, so I think its much better to build a second WordPress site that has the business plan so I can have an actual online store along with the Paypal block and a shopping cart and all that good stuff.
So it seems that for now I can get started with the Premium plan and start building my site from the ground up and will most likely upgrade to the business plan to add my approved AdSense account into the source code.
If I have any more questions I will let you guys know for sure, thank you so much for your professional advice in regards to this matter and happy holidays to you all at WordPress as well.
Have an awesome day now

Hi, so I purchased a hosting plan from a company called Hostinger which is also bundled up with wordpress as well. I downloaded and installed a theme called Astra and now my site is already active, it’s called http://www.Firetvstickusa.com
Now that my site is live, the home page loads properly on a computer, but when I view the homepage on a mobile device like a tablet or a phone even in the preview bar in editing, it doesn’t show the banner at all only grayscale. Any advice on this issue would be appreciated, although I know where to find the site title and logo settings, but when I change the logo size it doesn’t help this issue on mobile devices. Thank you in advance. -
Hi there,
I’m afraid in this case we’re not able to help.
This forum is for WordPress.com, a specific hosting provider for WordPress, and the advice we gave you in December all pertained to a site hosted on our servers.
But your site isn’t on our servers; it’s instead using the open source version of WordPress at Hostinger, so we have no access to it, nor any control over how it works. On that site you also won’t have access to features like the PayPal block we’d discussed earlier, as that’s a feature specific to WordPress.com, and not part of the open source software itself.
The version of WordPress you’re using now is made and supported by the community on WordPress.org, at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
But this particular issue sounds like it’s caused by your theme, which is made by a private company. So in this case your best option to get this sorted out is to contact that company directly for help. You can contact support for the Astra theme here:
