PayPal Buttons on WP site

I am trying to activate a PayPal Buy Now button to my website and have read articles from WP on how to do this, though some are a bit Sketchy and seem out of date. I have used the email link that PayPal supply and pasted it in the box alongside the button on the page referring to the intended sale, and linked it, but now wonder if this is correct.

  • Hi there,

What is the address of the site you’re working on? The account you’re using to post here does not own any sites on WordPress.com.

For WordPress.com you can find the instructions at https://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/ – on the free and Personal Plans only the plain HTML button can be used. For Premium Plan sites there is the Simple Payments button instead: http://en.support.wordpress.com/simple-payments/

If you’re using the open source WordPress software you should be able to just use the regular embed code provided by PayPal, as such a site won’t be subject to the code restrictions we have on WordPress.com.

But if you’re using that version of WordPress a better place to ask for help is https://wordpress.org/support/, as we don’t provide support for that version of WordPress in the WordPress.com forums.
