Paypal charges 2016 and 2017

I don’t ever recalling connecting my paypal to my wordpress account – yet I have 2 transactions over the past 2 years, both charged through paypal. Not sure why/how I have been charged when I’m signed up to a free account AND I don’t have paypal as a payment method on this account.

The recent charge that you disputed was for renewal of the domain, redmaxij.com, which you bought from us on 15 November 2012. You can view receipts for all your past transactions here:

If you didn’t want the domain to renew for another year, you could have cancelled it at any time from your Purchases page, or after the renewal you could have contacted us for a refund. As you have now filed a dispute with PayPal, however, the funds are now frozen and you’ll only be refunded once PayPal concludes their investigation, which can take upwards of eight weeks.
Additionally, your site has been locked and a chargeback fee applied. You won’t be able to use your site until you pay that fee. You can see our full policy on chargebacks here:
If you are willing to withdraw your dispute with PayPal we might still be able to refund you ourselves and unlock your site. If you no longer want the domain, redmaxij.com, we can then cancel it for you.
