PayPal code
-
Hi, I’m trying to put a PayPal link on my page but the code keeps getting stripped out. I’m dropping it in to the HTML view and it appears when I switch to “visual” mode but it’s gone when I preview. Is there a trick to this that I’m missing?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You’re probably using one of the many codes Paypal provides that isn’t allowed here for security reasons.
Double-check that you’re not using anything with the word “script” in it; use the HTML-only version of a button, not the javascript version. Do not choose the encrypted version, as that doesn’t work here.
If those two things don’t solve the problem, paste the code here so we can look at it; put it between backticks, those little marks usually on the same key as the ~, so backtick, all the code, backtick. That makes it display properly rather than trying to execute the code.

How do I paste the Paypal code into my blog? How do I get to the code to paste in the Paypal code? I have the code, just don’t know how to install ilt on my blog. Thanks for your help.

Raincoaster, you seem to know about these things. I’m trying to paste a Paypal “Subscribe” button to a webinar I run. But it doesn’t appear in the visual editor. I’ve taken the email code from Paypal and pasted it into the HTML editor, but it doesn’t show up as a button in the visual editor.
However the “Donate” button does showup. Is it not possible to use the “Subscribe” button? Here is the code I pasted.

Thanks for your or anybody else’s help.

Hi, you can use the Donate button, but it appears not the other buttons. See the link sent by raincoaster above. Use the Email option, not Website for getting the code. The only difference is that the code for inserting the buttons from the wordpress support link does not work. Simply copy the Donate button image to your computer, then paste it into your blog page. Then make a link to the image, using the Email code (not Website). This does work, as of September 25, 2010.
The other paypal buttons do not seem to work with this method, however.
If anyone knows more, please respond.

I have no problem in setting up the link, however the actual ‘donate button’ image does not show, instead I get the broken image sign. How can I remedy this please?

<img src=”https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_donateCC_LG.gif” alt=”” />
taken from your support site. I also tried to copy and paste the Donate button image as mentioned by tinepearson to the same results.

Does anyone know of a way to add an “add to cart” button? Will it work if I get another company to host my site?

It won’t work UNLESS you get another company to host your site. You’ll have to check with your host if they allow it, but most will.
