Paypal – collect money for monthly event?
-
Hello,
Just wondering if you are allowed to have a paypal button on a WordPress blog hosted by WordPress?
Wanting to have a customer be able to book an event through blog site, then link direct to paypal to be able to collect money for the booking.
Is this legally allowed (as noted above the blog is WordPress and hosting on WordPress).
Hoping for authentic repsonce not just random google type answer.Thank you,
LibbyThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You need to talk with staff directly, but since they have gone walkabout till the 16th, I’ll tag this thread so that hopefully they will see it and respond. They may respond by email directly to you.

I do this for the Shebeen Club and for my workshops on http://raincoastermedia.com but I ran it past staff first. In the distant past they would have said no, but they are much more open now; it depends largely on the kind of event. I teach WordPress and have a group of writers and publishers; that’s the kind of thing they like to support. If your event has the word “Forex” in it, you’re probably out of luck, but if it’s a non-sales, MLM-free event my bet would be they’ll say it’s fine.
By the way, for event bookings you might want to link to Eventbrite instead. They are incredibly useful: the only downsides are they take 2.5% and they bill you after the fact, so two weeks later you get a bill and go WHAT’S THIS??
