Paypal donate button-real easy

I really appreciate all the attempts to make this concept that’s supposed to be so easy more comprehensible. I’ve spend my entire evening – and well into the late night – trying to get the PayPal button on my website. I’ve gone through so many steps as listed by those good people trying to help in the forums, and still couldn’t get it! I think I’ll have to move my blog to another site that makes it easier for people to get my book. I give up for now! I just wanted to acknowledge those who take the time to share their knowledge. I’m glad some of the readers were able to have success — I just couldn’t do it.

I think I just accomplished this a different way:

    1. saved the paypal donate button as an image file on my computer
    2. uploaded it to my wordpress site’s media library
    3. inserted the image from the media library directly into a page (visual, not html)
    4. highlighted the image
    5. inserted the code from the ‘bottom box’ (the url) into the link field
    6. save and preview

It brings me right to my donate page!

But does that work when you’re not signed in to Paypal? Best to double check. I mean, it should, but it’s the kind of thing I’d double check.

I’m late to the party but here’s the syntax that I used. It works in a page or Text Widget.

    <img border=”0″ src=”https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_donateCC_LG.gif”>

If you use a different button just change the URL after src= to point to your button image.

    Let’s try that again.

    <a href="ENTER UNENCRYPTED PAYPAL EMAIL URL HERE"><img border="0" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_donateCC_LG.gif"></a>

I knew what had to be done, but I couldn’t get my fingers to do it until I read this post. DUH, it’s easy as pie!

Thanks for getting me through the brain block!

Trying to make a paypal button as a widget. The button image shows fine but the link to Paypal is not working. And when I add the email code, the whole string of the code shows up in the sidebar. I think I am following everything. WHat is wrong?

Gave up on the widget and got it to work in a post. But is there anyway to have a notice of a paypal donation sent to the blog?

We can’t help without a link to your blog.

Does this only work for Donate button?
I can’t get the Buy button to work. When the code is generated you just get the option for ‘website’ and not ’email’ like in the faq.

Everything works fine for me for a while but all of a sudden the email link doesnt work any more. It says there is something like a transaction problem.

My blog is http://www.alltechrelated.wordpress.com if you wanna have a look.
