Paypal glitch?

I purchased the Personal plan through Paypal, but then got returned automatically (two times) to my account page which shows me on the free plan. Is there a glitch with Paypal Canada?

Yes, it was for that account — very frustrating!
Since then, I have cancelled that account, and successfully opened another, as inkpublications.net.
I had some frustrations with this one, too. It crashed in the process, at one point. I was able to get through it all successfully 5 hours later.
I’m setting up this site up for a small ebook publishing venture I have, but also because I am writing a book about Net marketing for beginners, and I wanted to see how easy WP.com was. (I.E. compared to SquareSpace etc.) I was extremely impressed until I got to the actual sign-up part, and I kept running into problems! Hopefully, all will go smoothly now.
I do have two questions: WP charges $$$ for the year ahead. If the site is discontinued early, 1) does one get back a portion of the money? And 2) what happens to the domaine name?

Hi @sgulland, I do see the personal plan under this account. Just not under your @sandragullandinkpublications account.
It sounds like you just have two accounts, which can be a bit confusing.
About yearly charges: you do have 30 days to cancel for a full refund. The majority of our costs are incurred in the first few months as we pay for the domain and as folks typically need extra support, so they are not refundable after that.
The domain is only refundable for 2 days (similar reasons, only this time with the registrar) but it can be used with any service. You’re not bound to keep it pointed here.
