  Should a user need to have paypal account for payment? Will a user be able to pay using debit or credit card for a website built using premium plan?

  WordPress.com accepts all major credit and debit cards, and you can also pay directly through your PayPal account. For more details regarding payment methods check this topic: https://en.support.wordpress.com/payment/

  Hi there,

  The only option to have visitors to your site pay you for goods or services you sell on a Premium Plan site is the Simple Payments button that is integrated with PayPal.

  To take credit or debit card payments you will need to be using a payment gateway plugin, and using plugins on WordPress.com is only possible on the Business Plan.

  The OP is asking about receiving payment from visitors to their site, not about payment methods available to buy WordPress.com upgrades.
