Paypal Problems: "Continue Shopping"

  Hi! I set up several PayPal “Add to Cart” buttons on my website and they all are functional.

  Here is what I used to do what I’ve done so far:

  My issue is this: when I add an item to my cart and click the “Continue Shopping” link on the bottom of the PayPal shopping cart page, the link takes me back to my PayPal Shopping Cart and adds another of the same item to my cart.

  I would like to change this so that when I click “Continue Shopping,” the link takes me back to the page of my wordpress site where the PayPal button is (granolatestsite.wordpress.com/shop-copia/).

  If anyone has any idea how to do this, I would really appreciate your help. Thank You!

  Hi,

  You need to edit your button at Paypal and add a return URL to the button. See how to do that here:
  https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/mer/express_return_summary-outside

  I’ve been searching for other solutions and a number of sources have suggested the shopping cart functions are only permitted on wordpress.org (not .com). If I shift to a .org site, will I be able to fix the PayPal problem I’ve been having? If yes, how difficult is it to change over from a wordpress.com to a wordpress.org site?

  Hi,

  Login to Paypal and either edit your button or you can create a new button. If you don’t know how to do this, you can follow the instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

  You will see the part with these steps:

  Step 1: Choose a button type and enter your payment details
  Step 2: Track inventory, profit & loss (optional)
  Step 3: Customize advanced features (optional)

  On Step 3, that’s where you add your custom variables. Under Advanced Variables, check Add Advanced Variables, then in the text box, write

  shopping_url=http://yourlinkhere

  where you replace yourlinkhere with the page you want it to go to.
