  I am having trouble linking images in my blog to download pdf files. Uploading the pdf to the media library is not a problem. Then I go to Edit Image and paste the pdf link url (from the media library) into the “Link URL” field. I click “Update” and then save the draft and click preview. I open the preview in the next browser tab and click the linked image, but the pdf does not download. Instead, it opens a window with a jumbled up version of my blog template page (sans content) and floating haphazardly in the page is a text link that is the name of my pdf file. When I click that, the pdf downloads correctly. This interim step will confuse my readers, so I want to know how to get the pdf to download directly from clicking the image.
