pdf file deleted but still vissible due to server-side caching

Hi there,
i deleted some pdf files abiut a month ago from my site, but they are still vissible via direct link.

This is most probably due to server-side caching can you please help me and clear the server cache for my entire blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That link gives me a ‘404 — File not found.’ You are still seeing that file because it has been stored in your browser cache.

I’ve accessed the URL and I’m getting a ‘404 — File not found‘ error on 4 different browsers. Could you please try to clear your browser’s cache?

Please note that non-plugin-enabled sites do not need to clear the site’s cache, since it is only necessary when plugins are installed. In most cases, clearing your browser cache will resolve issues that appear to be related to server cache.

Thank you for the response.
The strange thing is that i tried 3 different computers and two mobile phones that i have with different browsers, with clear cache and private/incognito windows.
The link is always active from all the above sessions.
Now i tried from an online browser tester tool that give you access to do some cross-browser testing and get a 404 error that is the correct behavior.
Is it some sort of a cdn caching? Strange indeed…

I understand that you’ve already tried different computers and devices but got the same result. Even in incognito mode, the file may still load because WordPress.com uses a CDN, which can temporarily cache deleted files. This means the file might still appear until the CDN cache expires or is manually cleared (can be done if on a Paid plan).
That said, it’s a good sign that you’re getting a 404 error when testing with an online browser tool — that indicates the file has been successfully deleted and the correct behavior is in place.
