PDF Files Not Uploading Properly
-
When writing a post, I go through the steps to upload a PDF file (size: 339 KB), and it seems to upload successfully. It even appears in my Manage/Uploads screen.
However, when I click the link in the post to test it (I have it set to link to the file), I receive an error message in Adobe Reader 8 saying that the file cannot be found (“There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be found.”).
I get the same error when I try to link to it through the Manage/Uploads screen.
Has anyone experienced this? What can I do to fix it? I’d like people to be able to link directly to the PDF file from within the blog post.

Today I’m experiencing something similar. I’m trying to link to a PDF file on another website and when I click on the link in my wordpress blog… I get a Microsoft document offer or nothing in the new window that’s opened.

It would be easier to help narrow down the problem if you gave us a direct link to the post and file in question.

@darienflooding, the site you’re trying to link to may not allow hotlinking of their files. If that’s the case, you’ll have to download the pdf and upload it to your wp.com blog (or other hosting space).
