PDF insert to post
-
I was able to do this but now I cannot upload a pdf to a post. When I click the link it is blank even though I went through the media upload steps.

Hi there, can you provide a link to the post you created with the PDF? If you don’t want to publish it, you can save it as a draft and let me know the title of the draft post. I will be happy to take a look at it and help you figure out why it isn’t showing up properly!

Thank you for getting back to me. I can’t insert pdf documents as I used to. Here is a document I just set up as a test.
Click to access test-pdf-document.pdf
or
/Users/kathleenarnold/Desktop/Test pdf document.pdf
I am trying to place it into my account: [private information redacted] (Title of site: My Backpack)
I place the pdf on my desktop, click add media, it converts over to media, but then when I click the pdf link on my site it is not there…just blank.
I then tried to copy and paste the link and it still did not appear when clicked on the website.
Thanks for looking into this for me. I may just be missing a step, but this is important for our school that we place documents on the site so parents and students can print them off.

Hi Kathy,
You mentioned that when you click the PDF link on your site it isn’t there. Where on your site are you trying to place the link to that PDF document? The document at this link loaded for me:
Click to access test-pdf-document.pdf
But I would be happy to take a look at the place where you are trying to add the link on your site to see if I can help with that.
The other link you included (/Users/kathleenarnold/Desktop/Test pdf document.pdf) will not work on your site, because that file is only available from your computer. You won’t be able to open that link from your site.
You may also want to take a look at this guide to uploading documents from your computer: Uploading Documents: From Your Computer

Click to access test-pdf-document.pdf
When I even try to click on the above it is blank. Is my computer missing something?

I am able to open the PDF at that link, so it looks like something might be happening in your browser to cause this problem.
Can you confirm what browser you are using and what version of the browser you have installed? If you aren’t sure, you can go to this link and check the details under “Web Browser”: http://supportdetails.com/
Can you try opening the document in another web browser? (I will help you resolve the issue in your regular browser, but testing it in another browser will help us confirm what’s going on.) You can download the latest version of popular browsers on this page: http://browsehappy.com/
Thanks!
