PDFs from old website still appearing on web
-
I work for a company who used to have a website with wordpress, we have since swapped to a different CMS Umbraco (they also host the website). It has come to our attention however that old PDFs from the old website are still available publicly ( example – http://www.auger.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/). We still own and use the domain http://www.auger.co.uk – we can’t delete the content from the server as it doesn’t exist with Umbraco hosting it. We no longer have access to our wordpress account due to poor documentation from our previous employees, is there any way people can help? Accidentally posted question on the wordpress.org support forum and they were no help. Please feel free to ask anymore questions and I’ll be happy to answer them as best I can.

We can’t help you as your site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform. As your site is still online, it means it is hosted somewhere. The only people who are able to help you is your hosting.

Hi there,
The domain, auger.co.uk, has never been hosted on WordPress.com. This means you were using the open source WordPress software at another hosting provider. In other words, those files were at no point on our servers, so there’s nothing on our end for us to delete.
Do you have a direct link to one of these files? Then I can try to check for you if it’s actually loading from a server at your previous host, or if it might be a cached copy of the file that exists directly on Google’s servers. If it’s loading from a server at your previous host, you’d need to contact that host to request they remove the files. If it’s cached with search engines, you’ll need to contact the search engines directly to request removal.
