Pending for Review posts “missing”

  I am having a lot of trouble viewing the Pending posts in WP 2.7.1. I have 3 posts marked as Pending, but I can’t see them at all on my dashboard or under Edit Posts.

  This post shows something of a solution, but I don’t even know where to begin to apply the solution. Can anyone help? this is fairly critical.
